"Architect was such a great opener. Really gave a perspective to this beautiful place!! Would love to see it open a show again one day."

"just concluded this one after about a 2 week on-off listen...WoW! will give the slightest edge to the 7/26 show mainly because of the Set 2 opener compared to set 2 opener 7/27>>but DamN!"

"okay, enough screwing around....my review....Archictect is an interesting choice as an opener. Like this song very much. With this, Broken Heart and Say Something (awesome tune! Great potential!), we have 3 solo songs from Trey, Page and Mike, similar to 2/26/03, which was also a great show and came right before the epic 2/28/03 Uniondale show. This Gorge show came right before...Tahoeweezer! Interesting. Anyway, Curtain With is a treat. Some have dissed it but I thought it was beautiful. KDF was a little too fast for me, but rocked NTL. Maze was its usual awesome self. The real treasure this set and what set the stage I thought for the 2nd set was the incredible Ocelot. Probably the best Ocelot they've ever played. The jam was subtle, energetic and extremely interesting. I heard elements of Bird Song all through it. The interplay between the band, specifically Page and Trey, was astounding and included a seamless segue into a frantic peak and close. Brilliant playing. Really loved the balls to the wall After Midnight which followed. Man, you can hear the fire. The boys are feeling it. 2nd set was astounding. Not the transcendence of night 1, IMO opinion, but damn close. Damn close. WHAT A RUN! DWD, while a predictable opener, really delivered. Undermind was brilliant (I'm out of adjectives), Light was short but absolutely intensely nailed, and Sneakin Sally, like Bill Graham last year, follows it in fine fashion. The jam in all four songs were A+ quality. To give an idea of how truly fine this show is, 2001 is a cool-down in this show. How many shows is 2001 a cool-down? Well, in this one it is. A fine version, too. WOTC, one of my favs, is brilliantly executed and segues into (surprise!) an absolutely for-the-ages Fluffhead. They really were tight in this performance of the song and it was the peak of the evening, as I heard it. The Antelope which followed, while average-great, served to bring things to a close, though I really would've preferred Slave here, I can't complain. Show of Life, which I happen to like, made an appropriate appearance in the encore slot. What an epic two-night run. Yes, epic is the right word. "
