"Very stoned listening to this show right now. This second set is so much fun. "

"After watching DaaM almost 7 years later, this show was just as amazing and high energy as I remember it. I've seen so many shows since but this remains in my top 3 for the crowd energy, lighter moments in Dsky and slave, Paul and Silas dedication banter, great covers (ween, Hendrix, Beatles etc), takin care of business, and most importantly, the wide ranging Tweezer>Golden Age madness. Check this bad boy out. "

"Had to make a comment. In an older guy. Not real old but mid thirties and I've been seeing band since 4 th quarter of the nineties. I remember listening to the exact argument that happening today back then about how phish were drastically changing their style and the real old vets didn't like it. I loved it even thoug I cut my teeth on tapes of old phish meaning like 88-1995. Bangor tweezer was what blew me away and gave that movement we all have had where we sAy "im a fucking phish head goddammit." But even though that jam is what turned me I have to app free with people who talk up today's style. And I'm also a huge fan of the whole year basically of 2003. The fucking IT FESTIVAL is absolutely one of the best phish prefaces ever! I love how ,any people talk about big cypress-the ultimate show thSt was only good if you were there. I mean come people the sloppiness and logistics involved with the third set made for some of,the most plain unlistenable stuff that was still amazing to hear live. But father item on a bicycle with bike noises and the clicking of a huge clock don't make a great jam to cruise in the car too. and then the good shows from 2004 like both Saratoga and Mansfield shows as well as the "real finale" the 2004 Camden show that kicked ass. I was there for all that and I get wicked posse when people blow off that era or,particularly more often 2004. Saratoga both nite but especially the five song second set nite are so good it's ridiculously. That piper is the amalgamation of everything good about the island tour in 98 and everything they continued to evolve thru like the Japanese fukokua jam and then when they got back from hiatus the equipment had caught up with them and they had all gotten better at being able to create the sound they had in their heads. But I'm getting way off course heRe. I,wanna point something out to my aged peers. All the things we say critically about the young fans: saying epic this and saying they just love whatever is put I'm front of them. I'm sorry but I'm in touch with myself and I can go back and listen to old shows and love them but also realize that I'm just like the kids are today. There would be wicked sloppy stop start jams with moment where the whole band was lost-which doesn't happen much anymore because they have improved tremendously at one thing-LONG FORM IMPROV. I love when someone starts their post out by saying "I saw the show, last might and IMHO it was at best above average. Saw the show sober....." Aaaaahhhh. Stop. I bet you didn't used to do that much. So you got fucked up like everyone else was at the time during eArly phish but your memories are just DEFINETELY pure and correct right. Those jams were all def as good as u thought. Not a little boring the way u describe the new show jams now that your sober. I'm sorry people but the band has always made mistakes and those who think that isn't true aren't being honest with themselves. Nobody in this band has lost chops. Musicians don't lose ability like athletes. They usually get better. It you don't think trey is so much more advanced with his effects rig and really at the forefront of life effects use (while still playing the cleanest tone during normal playing conditiones of anyone in rock) and his ability to creates sounds and textures he could never do in the past cuz the technology simply wasn't their, than your being naive. If you don't page has more and more stuff he can do as effects have gotten better and dsp sounds better and he has added pieces to his setup-your crazy. And biggest of all, mike Gordon is the most improved member of phish. For many reasons, but I noticed during a mike and Leo,show how much he had to work to get faster and better on that acoustic 4 string and then his work with ramble dove, the duo and finally his band have kept him improving and getting quite amazing. I mean you people at like these guys don't play unless phish is touring. They are all active career musicians. Mike is also wicked improved song writer, fishman is just fishman. Hasn't slowed really. He'll be the first to slow because of physical aspect of drumming but I mean like a lint time from now. Billy k from GD can still shred a drum kit so unless major arthritis is an issue fish has many years of elite playing ahead. And the guy who said that we won't r,ember these shows,ueRs from now your dead wrong. It takes one good song to be remembered. People talk about shows no matter how good they were usually mean out just one jam. Bangor tweezer, CMAC fleezer, Bozeman tweezer, Tinley park Tinley park jam, Nassau 98 twist, prague ghost, Hampton 97 Bowie cities Bowie etc etc...shoes get labeled by the one great jam they hatched. And even this Hampton show, just like all those other shows I mentioned mad more than just one good moment, it will be talked about for its tweezer. You can't deny that. It's one year later and we are still talking about it. I just can't believe the shit said on these boards. People need to smarten up,and realize your age affects your every smeary input. You don't see the world they way you used to. HERE IS MY FINAL THESIS: THE MUSIC HASNT CHANGED NEARLY AD MUCH AS YOU HAVE FRIENDS..... Not the other way around. I know I can admit that. Can you?"

"Okay.....we've pimp-slapped each other enough. I hear you. We're both entitled to our view. You make some good comments as well, especially the fact that you've been at a lot of these shows. I actually laughed out loud when you mentioned your wife wanting to 'divorce' you for (I assume) going to so many shows. It's true, I went to Worcester and couch toured and headphoned the rest of this tour. So I can't overcome that objection. I think we simply don't hear the music the same way. I mean, there's no question that the last couple of years they seem to get locked into a lot of major scale 1-4-7 progressions and just ride them to predictable peaks, but I hear a lot of subtlety in their sound these days nonetheless. I believe their maturity is showing and they've progressed, that's all. I sometimes lack patience with the old Heads who are constantly ripping 3.0 as a shadow of the "old days"....Many times people defend them nostalgically like a hope chest from a dead relative and it isn't productive. We live in the NOW or we don't live at all. Sorry if I offended you. I was pretty harsh. You pissed me off, as I did you, but we'd probably get along great at a show. Peace."

"You're way off base man. First off I've been playin 18 years professionally have a wife, two kids and am 51. I am not Trey and will never be that good. After that lets go this route. I never trashed 3.0. I saw Hartford and Reading and liked both of those shows better than any of the nights at hampton. It was my least favorite at hampton for all the ones I have seen, certainly not EPIC. I don't want to decide if I want to buy a show because a bunch of 22 year olds are telling everyone "epic" "so epic dude". I never said I thought you were 22 for fucks sake. I'd prefer a real review of the show thats all. I thought the show was slightly above average and I have been going to these last few shows with old heads who are saying the same things that some of the jams are totally uninspiring. Look around you at the shows there are alot of people sitting down during the jams for a long time. You make some great points too about the band changing, trey's playing an more but I am not pissing down anyone's back. I do not agree at all that phish is better musicianship wise today. Mike has a great technique today. The rest have all lost a step in my opinion. They are different musicians their sound is different no way are they better in my opinion. And that's it its just an opinion. Jaded sitting at home listening to Hampton 97 on my headphones? I was at these shows, at Reading and at Hartford, I am going to Halloween night in AC and my wife is ready to divorce me. I stopped counting at 150 got to be more like 200+ at this point. I think I can write a review that says the show was slightly above average having paid 65 to get in plus my traveling. I also think its strange you insist the show is among th best they ever played cause you werent even there and listened once on your stereo. That's idiotic. Not everyone agrees with you ACCEPT it and ENJOY it."
