As a phan of phish new and old, i must say the dayton show must be in anyones top 5 list of all-time greates phish shows.to me, dayton 97 and arrowhead 91 are the phattest phish shows ever. too bad i only saw one of the two to download. Even if you took away the super super phat `tube` and the almost as sick `theme`, you will still have a show that will never get old. the ice/swept/ice still puts me into a peaceful coma. throw in a beatles cover and you`re a happy camper. GET THIS SHOW

7!!!!! Grateful Dead 1977, Phish 1997. I`ve seen 28 shows since 1997. It`s really funny cause I remember this being like `the headiest bootleg` in the first few years I saw them and traded shows with people. I`ve loved my times with Phish. I`ll keep seeing them till the day I die but I do think that this year was their pinnacle, particularly fall. I have a feeling I`ll always say that my three 97 shows, Hartford 11/26, tour closer in Albany 12/13, and Darien Lake 8/14 with Kesey and the Pranksters are the best shows I`ve ever seen Phish play. The comeback shows were fun and it`s only gotten better since hiatus. Summer 03 was the bomb! I hope the Vermont Festival comes through this summer. I`m totally broke so it`s either that or Bonnaroo.

Allrighty, a remarkable show for a remarkable day! Just a lil` background before I segway into my review of this gem! A cold and and hostile day in cold and hostile Ohio. Met this cat parked in front of me and my buddy T-Dubz in the lot by the name of Gino Bowler, and we simply hit it off. Ended up getting rid of our extra to him, and believe me you, tickets were tough to come by that day. Through discussion I found out that he was in need of a ticket to 12-28 in Maryland. Well I happend to have an extra for the floor for that show with me! But I was in need of a New Years ticket becuase I was denied through mail order. Well Gino had an extra for New Years back on Long Island. So I gave him my extra and trusted in human nature that he would send me the New Years ticket. Sure enough he did! Sorry bout the excessive background, but I feel that was a very important part of this blessed day and the evolution of my own personal Phistory. Okay kiddies, on to my review! Was located fifth row right in front of ol` Ernest Guiseppie and that`s always nice! As soon as we went "Down, Down, Down, Down" in Bag and the jam began you could feel that something atypical was taking place!>Psyco Killer, you`ve got to be killing me, hehe. >The Jesus was absolutly smoking with a few "Red House" quotes by big red n shaggy during his solo. An absolutly beautiful Theme. I`m telling you these guyz don`t play this song like they used to! And the Theme`s from 95` are ever better! Swept>Steep, probably the coolest meat to an Ice sandwich that I`ve seen, well besids Lengthwise at Bonner Springs 98`. Now it gets interesting. As some of you may know, the funk started to rear it`s dark head in Europe early this summer of 97`. So after summer Europe, summer US, and most of fall, the boyz had the white man funk nailed down. Hence this set showcasing the first real Tube. No kiddies, not First Tube, but the first time that Tube streched into the realms of funkdom. After the completion of the song, Trey or fishman say to the rest of the boyz "Hey, lets jam some more", and jam they do. Post Tube jam if you will that segways remarkably into Slave. Yeah, in my top five of renditions I`ve seen, out of about 35! They had just played Slave two nights earlier in Clevland, but that version mutated off into a hose that is simply undiscribable. That version never really finished, so I think the boyz felt the need to completet that earlier version if you will. Set two. I`m getting tierd of typing so I`ll wrap this thing up kind of quickly. Smashing, hardcore Timber! to open. Great set two opener anytime. A funktacular Wolfy that seemlessly segways into the first Boogie in almost 10 years!> And that just bleeds into Reba! Question? Anyone ever heard anything segway into Reba? Probably not, cause it ain`t never happened before! Again this version is in my top five of all the times I`ve seen um do it, again about 35! Possum=BBQ`d beef>A Day With Your Wife and I`m out. That`s the real deal yall. Hoped you liked my recreation cause there alot more where that came from!

Simply put: BEST SHOW ON THIS SITE in my humble opinion. This show reminds me of why I listen to Phish in the first place. Fall tour `97 was magic. They had the funk, the precision, and the pure understated beauty of Billy Breathes fresh in their minds. I know that the superlatives for this show are plentiful, but honestly: if you buy one show, this is the one. Humble plea for the site...please release more `97s...peace and love.

Listen to the possum, it will change the way you look at life and living! I can only wish to live every day of my life listening to this version of possum. The show as a whole is tight as a possum`s little pink but-hole, see, i cant stop thinking of possum!
