I will go on record and say I will put this show up against any as the greatest show Phish I have seen. Top to bottom the boys were smokin on this night - to me, this was the height of Phish `phunk` phase. The jams are very tight, everyone was on the same page, whether is was breaking out Psycho Killer or Boogie On... jamming out of AC/DC Bag, Tube, or Wolfman`s... stretching and putting everything they have into Theme, Slave, Reba, or Possum... they were off the hook on this night. I`ve seen a good amount of shows and there is not one that is as good as this. Consider this: this is the only show that I never looked at the stage once after they played their first note of each set. The music was so tight, so powerful, so wonderful that there was no need to even know they were up there. The energy of this show was almost too much!

My first show - or should I say the first of many. I have seen nothing like it since. The setlist looks great, but you really have to hear it to know what the hype is all about.

Yes. I am a native Daytonian. This was my first show!!!! I remember catching the psycho-killer riff right when Trey ripped it coming out of AC/DC Bag because the studio manager of the high school radio station (WCWT the BEEF!!!)I was working at had ordered us to stop playing Psycho Killer that same day. Gordo really lays the groove down on this one. I`ll never forget the Tube either. So Hot!!! Get this show. There is a cohesive groove throughout the entire show, just like we like it. Just like we need it

Coming out of the post grunge era, I was introduced to Phish around 96`. This was a whole different world of music than what I was used to. I was quickly being sucked in to this beutiful music and it was opening the door to many other types of music that I now love; mainly bluegrass. The Dayton show was my first ever Phish show. It blew me away. I knew this was not going to be a passing thing for me. I will attend Phish shows now till the day I die.

This stands as one of the best showes of probubly one of the best tours Phish ever did FALL `97. Anyone with any inclination to check Phish out whatsoever should head streight for this show.

I have been to over 50 shows and this one clearly stands out in the top 5 for me. The eneregy in 97 was incredible and this was likely the best show of the fall tour. ACDC-Phsycho Killer(last played in 88)-Jesus Left Chicago was an incredible way to lift Dayton to that next level, where you knew you were in for a special show. Page really does some wonderful playing on Jesus Left Chicago. Im also a huge Its Ice fan, so with a Swept Away-Steep thrown in the middle I was more than happy. The second set featured Timber Ho, at the time a rare Boogie on Reggae(hadnt been played in over 800 shows), and a well need Reba. I remember the back drop for the satge, there were no seats behind Phish, they were literally playing from inside a wall, I still have not been to a venue like this to date. I could through every song for this show but you just have to give it a listen for yourself. Other than that, the encore was very appropriate due to the fact it was a Lennon tibute( A day in the LIfe) Lennon passed away on Dec 8, 1980, and since Phish had the next nite off, they played it on the 7th. My friends who skipped the Ohio shows that fall called me for the set list the next morning and couldnt believe they played Its ice, BORW, Psycho Killer, and Reba. "WHo plays Its Ice and Psycho Killer in Ohio?" WHo else? PHISH
