wow, this show is incredible, Listening Wind is amazing, but this is the best yem ive ever heard. without a doubt FUCK YEA

the real deal  (11/5/2009 7:32:12 PM)

some of the more hyped shows can end up being let downs. well, this is not one of those. if you are reading this to determine if you should download this show, stop reading and start down loading... this is one of the best!!!

sanity>highway is a great way to kick up the jams on a halloween night. down with disease was a good solid 96 version. yem is a nice 1st set treat. a slightly darker twinge rides over this reba. very good first set, one of the best.

then there is remain in light. from start to finish this is a humdinger. a lot of people dig the weirdness toward the end of this album but i prefer the front/middle section. of course, cross eyed was a keeper, but man, i wish they would bring back houses in motion or the great curve... come on, just one more time... maybe more than one!! houses in motion is such a good song. i'm hoping to hear it every show i go to, and i will continue to hope for it in a couple of weeks in cincy. anyway, this is my favorite of the halloween albums, and i feel the executed flawlessly.

the third set was another hum dinger. the brother>2001>maze>simple killed. brother and 2001 benefitted greatly from the added percussion. page, as he is proned to do, blew the roof off the place on maze. trey chimed in with some hot licks too.

all in all, i will say, without a doubt, this is my favorite of the phish halloween shows. indio was good, but it did nothing to change my mind here. halloween '95 has some killer moments, but this is the bees knees

I've been listening to Phish for about 3 years now and have always avoided the Halloween shows based on poor reviews. Oh a whim I decided to purchase all four shows and have been really impressed with this one. Other reviews have mentioned how amazing the first and third sets are, but I feel the best part is the cover of Remain in Light. The first half is full of energy, but I liked the mellower second half better. All the songs had a common vibe that seemed to move from one to the next. Houses in Motion through Listening Wind is my favorite part of the show. This is THE Halloween show to get, it really shows just how talented Phish is.

My First Phish Show....and what a way to go. Words cannot describe the energy that night. The Sanity>HWH opener just blew the roof off the joint. The DWD jam is so tasty. First set YEM...yu mmy. Reba Jam melts face, Forbins..."cause this is Halloween"
Remain in Light was tribal...thats all I can say. Absolutely smothered in percussion until the Overload did just that.
Third Set is so fluid with one of my favorite 2001's of all time, a devious Maze, Simple Jam to end all others whilst GCH will blow you away on JLC and Suzy G.
I have spent the remainder of my Phish career trying to get back to the vibe and energy of this night. Chasing the Dragon.

For those who have NOT been to more than a few shows, read Marshall's review on 03/25/09 - spot on. Wicked Sanity opener (almost never used as opener) into HTH. Great energy and they were having a blast on stage. If you like Talking Heads, you'll love the costume, but everything gets real mellow toward the end. Brother>2001>Maze>Simple got everyone going again, and this Frankenstein is one of my favorites from the archives. It was a great show to see and is worth the time and money, even if you only break out the Remain in Light disc when you just want to relax and enjoy the phlow.

This is one amazing show. Even 2 cents charlie gave this Y.E.M an A. everyone of the 4 is on absolute fire. get this show just for the first disc. AMAZING MIKE IN YEM ABSOLUTLY UNREALLLLL

Disc 3 = Phish doing one of my favorite albums (Remain In Light) in its entirety & kicking some major tail. If only they would do songs like OIAL & BUP more often...anyways, great concert overall!!

If Phish ever does another Halloween show & decides to cover another album from front to back, please make it Pavement's "Wowee Zowee" or My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless."
