"Oh ya. 7 years later and this Hood still hits the spot. The peak they hit around 9:30 is unfathomably killer. Moma dance’s jam cherry gets popped. Magic. "

"Today in Phish history: On Sunday July 3, 2016 Phish played the third of three nights at Saratoga Springs Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in New York. And yes, I was at that show. This was a life-changing weekend for me. I discussed it in my TikToks for night one and night two. I want to talk about the music for this one. Honestly, I forgot how fantastic this show was. I’ve been listening to since I finished 7/3/00 earlier today. They opened with the Wedge and I can’t help but think of my college roommate because he absolutely loved this song and on our way down to my first Phish show on 2/11/93, The Wedge was the only song he was singing and that’s all he wanted to see that night so every time I get this, I think of Farney. So much so that it came on when I was on the treadmill today and I started crying in the middle of the gym. That’s how powerful music is! That It’s Ice highlighted Page beautifully. Let me just say that mid workout I had to get up and start dancing during that Scent of a Mule. I didn’t even remember this and there’s not much more in life I enjoy more than a Scent of a Mule with a jig. Well phriends I found it and that is SPAC Scent of a Mule! Fishman on the Marimba Lumina and Mike going off with the bass and his vocals and the jig! Really the stand out for me and I know there is so much talk about the Moma Dance and I appreciate it and I dig it but music is subjective and that Mule, oy just speaks to my soul! This Possum was so funky I almost fell off the bike today because I lost my balance getting my groove on. I still can’t listen to the song Joy, too much death in my life and it just makes me cry. Miss You is in that category as well. I like the songs they’re fantastic and beautiful yada yada but I don’t listen to Phish to deal with my grief. Hmmm, maybe I should, though not today phriends not today. The Soul Shakedown Party was a beautiful way to start the second set. I really wish they would play Breath and Burning more and I don’t know if I’m in the minority here, but I absolutely love it! This Harry Hood is one for the books! And I shall always gladly take a Show of Life. Yeah, I know I can’t tell you what I was thinking this night when I got it because my brain doesn’t work like that all the time so I’m telling you on my relisten today, 7 years later this was my reaction. I don’t remember much from the show except where I was and that my mind was blown, that much I remember. I was mostly on that paved walkway by the concession stand at the top of the lawn. That’s where I found the sound to be the best on the lawn. I mean even the Heavy Things and the Twist were outstanding for me and usually there are like meh kind of songs. This show is up on the LivePhish app and I encourage you to give it a listen because even though I was there seven years ago today, I forgot most of this and it’s worth listening to it. Dude, we really do have it simple because we have the most amazing band ever! Yeah, I know I sound like a fangirl geek and I don’t phucking care. This band’s music gets me to do most things in my life because it gets me going. It fuels my soul like air, water, and food. So yeah, I’m that girl who professes her love for the Phish from Vermont unapologetically with zero shame. "
