"2nd set was best set I've seen them play in a while. I'm not normally a huge fan of all the song choices in set 2 but hey, that's reason #4,563 that I love this band. They grow and change my opinions of their songs all the time. They clearly came back on after setbreak with a purpose to play slower, low key, almost muted or restrained. No big explosions in Birds or Cavern. Everything was pulled back. The vocals too were hushed as they were singing softly on purpose. It is always a treat to see them having fun and changing things up. If you haven't already try listening to the 2nd set with an ear towards the deliberate way they played everything. Pretty rad. Sidenote...Soul Planet is a joke or experiment they are running on us right? I went to 7 of the West Coast Shows and think I saw Soul Planet 3 times...with smiles and laughing on all their faces every time. Or perhaps it's a manifestation of the arbitrary nature of the lyrics in many of their songs where the vocals exist more as a 5th instrument than to tell a story or make sense. Thank you boys for all the west coast love in 2018! See ya in Colorado!"
