"I was at this show and wow this is criminally underrated turtle in the clouds opener is nuts and Strawberry letter 23 is a old time classic that trey and page slay not only is the first set hot out the gate much like other nights from this run the second set gets hotter with a fun YEM opener and cools it down with a Bug and closes it off with Good Times Bad times with a good ol grind > Slave is a pretty hot show in my humble opinion "

"I have not seen Phish since Louisville KY in 1995? I always liked them, I had a few bootlegs, I actually taped them in Louisville 93 in May. That was the first time I saw them. I always knew these guys were real musicians with chops and taste. So, this show I bought a ticket and my buddy and I went to the show... I haven't been back to "Deer Creek" probably since I saw Trey A there in 2004? Anyway, lots have changed in that place but I really thought the band was great! I was sitting pretty much center lawn and the sound was nice and clean, the weather was perfect too! I think there was a full moon that night too! Set 1 opener "while my guitar gently weeps" Ok , cool ... unexpected really, it's not a tune that is fast out of the gate like most opening songs, so that kind of set the tone off the bat ... then we get a straight up blues shuffle "my soul" now, I'm head bobbin' ! Next Up, "Rift" , yeah, phish style latin grooves, then, "Horn" a rather laid back basic rock style, now back to dancin' , the Phish style Funk groove appears with "wombat" , "Guyute" comes out of the classic Phish stash for only that kind of eclectic groove that they only can do! "Mercury" gives us some nice straight up rock groove and great vocals on this one ! Close out 1st set with a funky "the momma dance" get out your wah wah especially on Page's vintage clavinet , yes , we fans know the real goods Set 2 starts with a MONSTER "Sand" that goes from funky to psychedelic jams very very well improvisation , Phish is probably the greatest JAM band since the Grateful Dead, let's face it. I was absolutely NEW to that tune, I only know "classic Phish" to about 2000 or so. They delivered the goods. Alot of the 2nd set material I was unfamiliar with but I did gauge the crowd's reaction to "the mango song" , I knew they were singing about mango's but I didn't know that was the title until after I looked up the set list and eventually purchased a download. So , I was surprised with delight when the 2nd song of the encore was "slave to the traffic light" from the old days! I did grab my iphone to capture that tune, you can find it on youtube if you wanna see it ... I'd love to see them live again and hope to see them again really soon, hey guys, come to Louisville KY, the YUM center/state of KY needs the concerts! I also love how we can simply download shows etc. for a a fair price , it beats the marginal low fi room tapes , although I love those guys too!"

"These guys are fuckin' burning the towns down this last year 2021 and 2022 so far. Check Eugene '21(i was there) if you havnt yet. I feel like theyre taking the shit to a leval beyond modern western music. I wonder what Miles Davis would think of these jams???"
