Phreaking at the Greek — 4/19/2024 11:04:43 AM
"To be 19 again and see Phish on Bicycle Day at the Greek :) Thank you Albert Hoffman. Thank you Phish. What a truly momentous occasion that we all gathered for. Only my second Phish show, the first being Monday night's Tweezer blowout, but for my money and personal opinion, this show was IT. First set flows like butter. There is a special kind of mindfuck when a mid set Lawn Boy is followed by Halleys Comet. Not from a jam perspective, but from a "what is even going on anymore" POV. Second set was interesting, jam from SYSF warped my mind until What's the Use blew it away. Oh, and the bedazzling lights (Thank you CK5). At the very end, I met a Head who was at least in his 50s who'd seen Jerry at the Greek in 85 (6/14/85 second set is the SHIT). It all goes full circle"

"The Greek run was the best 3 nights of phish in my 15 years of phishing. Magical venue, incredible energy, inspired jamming, exploratory "

"It sounds to me like they are building…toward something. Shaping a specific sound. Each night complements the night before, finishing off the statement made starting the previous night. The previous run. Peak phish. "

"WHY IS NOBODY MENTIONING THE TYPE 2 AC/DC BAG?!?!? First since Coventry!!!! The entrance into the Type 2 territory isnt as assertive as the legendary 8/10/04 version (which is better than Coventry - fight me, Coventry just tries to sloppily replicate what 8/10/04 does). But the jam finds typical late-3.0 spaces in a modulation to the relative major and breezes to an upbeat although somewhat muted peak. But hey, I’ll take it. It sounds great. See 8/10/04 for some true madness tho - you need the SBD however, listen for Mikes slap licks once Trey abandons the progression. "
