"Just listened to this today. It`s the summer tour opener,so there are rough spots. (Mainly in the 1st set.) But the second set was quite good, though not excellent. Unless you`re a completist (like me) maybe skip this one."

"This was an amazing show personally and musically. My first time in phoenix, and first time back on good old Phish Summer tour since `00. Everything about this show blew me away as to Phish`s new sound. Set I opens with a Stash that slowly gets the jam engines going, and the mellow, well articulated notes continued throughout a very spacy Bowie, and first set on the whole. This may be my favorite Dirt ever, really taking on a new feel in its jam. This also is my favorite Waves, full of higher and higher peaks. The vibe of this set was perfect; un-rushed, experimental, and FRESH sounding. Set II was nothing short of amazing and continued to represent the new sounds of Phish. A rocking BOAF opener, depspite the start a half step or so off, had the band locked in a groove exploring the funk tones of their instruments throughout. This Wolfman`s Jam truely hits a unique moment, that left me jaws open at the new sound; dark, unexpected, and heavy. Another wonderful moment, came as the band segued into the debut of Scents and Subtle Sounds, and this original version no doubt is one of the best out there. TMWSIY->Alvenu was a first for me in some 50 shows.... and opened so beautifully setting the gamehendge-esque vibe, and then capped off by a solid Alvenu with Mike taking one of his many epic Solos that would follow this tour...great! Great show with tons more to offer, diverse setlist, and very creative and fresh jams, Check out the CRICKET. Great show, great tour!"

"All in all, i think this was a solid tour opener. The stash as short and sweet, as was all of the first set...don`t want to get to frenzied in that hot Phoenix sun! The bowie kinda sucked, but that new one spices is a nice gamehendge-esque song...i smelled the piney scents all over the place! Set two was tight and controlled for the most part, and the avenu bass solo was outta sight! Birds and wolfman`s were the show high points, with a lame ending to a good opener. i would say this is a show for the beginners with some nuggets for the old heads! peace, see ya in VT (hopefully!)"
