"I was at my friends cabin recently and I played this. I had just taken a hit of a gravity bong for the first time ever. Let me tell you, I am a light weight. Shit was getting weird. Anyways, the first set was fucking amazing. I remember how much Bathtub Gin hit me during that first part where they start with the crash. The crash hit me sooo hard. I had never experienced anything like it before. I went to bed during Gin in complete bliss. It was amazing. I listened to the show and YEM into Simple was sublime. Mountains is a nice tune, Chalk is great, Gin blew my mind. I can't review it all because I listened to first set and Cup. The first set is worth the money. Don't miss this gem from 2003."

Bathtub Gin Jam....> 7/1/2011 2:07:47 PM

"Just finished the Phish Bio book, good read, they mentioned this show as some awesome playing, they were right. Really tight jamming, the jam in BTG is worth the 10 bucks alone. Check it out. Coconut Phil. I'm not at Super Ball 9 I'm sad to say."

"In preparation of my first Phish show this year, I have been catching up on as much Phish 2.0 as possible, then I plan on working my way through the 2009 shows. So far, 3 shows into the summer tour its definitely not as hot as that winter tour (one of their best ever IMO), and while so far none of the first 3 shows are total keepers, each one has at least one fantastic excursion into the musical atmosphere (Ok except for maybe 7/7 @ Cricket - that show just plain sucks). The night before this had that amazing Tweezer and now in this show I must say I am a huge fan of this "Bathtub Gin" and "Twist". Definitely not as altogether mind-orgasmic like the 2/28 Gin, I love the whole groove they get going into this jam. The work between Trey and John in particular is excellent. They really make this jam what it is. Trey playing some amazing melodic stuff and John is really making things interesting. I must say 2.0 is my favorite Fishman period. A lot of times he leads the jams and his drumming is just ON POINT this entire time. And while certain songs certainly suffered during this time, Twist was one of the songs I think they really perfected around this time and this version is a perfect example of the power of this group at the time. And while on paper the YEM>Simple seems like the monster of the night, it's actually a really forgettable YEM. The Piper>Twist is a lot more adventurous and risky, it sort of delves into one of those "oxy" jams and then Twist is incredible!! One of the best of this particular song I've ever heard. All in all an entertaining show with a few scattered moments of improv genius. You will love this Gin and Twist though."

"I saw the first 5 shows of this first summer tour in 3 years. The two nites at shoreline stand out. This first nite-what can i say except my kind of setlist!Yem opener-symbolizes "lets do this". dancing in the trench that nite was like marching in the worlds most powerful army-the bodys movin, feet stompin, and that insane feeling that at that point in time, nothing in the world could stop me.(all that with only about half the carnage of actually joining a real army) These post-hiatus bathtub gin`s to me epitiphy what this band is all about!! The second set is LOADED ( i love piper ). when you feel you`ve been to jupiter and back towards the end of the show and THEN they go into an old-school mikes groove, all i can say is "WHERE ELSE WOULD YOU RATHER BE THAN RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW?" please come back gentleman and play forever..."
