"I just love when someone starts out their review with this: " I didn't listen to or attend the show but...." Stop right there bro. Go to a msg board about phish and the phish community and espouse your negative opinions (which I totally respect your right to have just not in this venue) at a proper venue for it-a subjective msg board designed for exactly such commentary. The live phish msg boards are supposed to be 90% about the particular show your adding a review to and then a little bit maybe room for some other stuff added to that. But you wrote the longest review of anyone and you brazenly admit you haven't listened. Well I did listen and this show kicks ass. I'm a big fan of Russ Lawton and tony Markellis but anytime trey plays with super drummer Jeff Sipe aka "apt," along with the ever thumping and heavy handed tony hall I'm happy. Add in some killer guest doses with robert randolph and it's fiiiine musak. This show has groove, flow, speed, variety, they get fast and furious, they groove low and slow, and they just throw a nice collection of blues-jazz-prog rock-n' roll- fusion goodness at you from start to finish with a veritable supergroup of virtuosos under the steady guiding hand of the talented mr anastasio who gets way to little appreciation for his on stage leadership and arrangements that make not just his band but phish click. I think this 46 days is stellar, well I should start at top. Starts off with great combo and high energy readings of simple twist up Dave and first tube....shows already good and off to the races. Stone free and 46 days with the guests are phenomenal. Trey always manages to manipulate the musical space in a way that guests can feel free to stretch and he still adds his sound to the mix. I mean he and Randolph mix a nice hendrixian swirly psychedelic yet blues soaked slushy of goodness in these two tunes. Whenever Randolph plays outside of the family band you see how much he has gone beyond the confines of a blues guitarist or a "slide guitarist." I just wish he would take that step with his own band like Derek trucks did years ago. And he can always go back as Derek has to a more groove oriented sound if he so chooses but id like to hear him being the fusion more. Anyway so energy stays up in this one due to short show. Amazing duelly 20 min explorations and exhortations in the nice plasma and gotta jiboo. And icing on top with (an albeit slightly short but still nice surprise) the sweet mr completely encore. Great listen here folks. Enjoy. And to kevin with his side project rant. You are entitled to opinions and so am I. And mine is that your a compete fool. Just like so many other aspects of their careers the members of phish have done what the members of the dead did and each have created projects and non-phish material that shows just how unbelievably talented they all are. And it goes in cycles. Lately yea mike seems to be getting hotter and hotter but just like many dead fans said that during the tough times with the dead the JGB shows were really where it was at and where the true heads were I believe the same thing about a great TAB show or a great gordon band show. Treys band was RAGING during the first hiatus. It was a straight up dance show. And on recent years he's gone out and it's been similar to those heights from early 2000's. I even loved the Dave Mathews and friends stuff cuz it featured so little dave and so much trey, tony hall, Brady blade, ray pachzowski, and tim reynolds. But I've enjoyed everything these guys have done from the super group vida blue and the spam all stars with one of my ALLTIME fav bassists oteil burbridge, to the amazing jazz mandolin shows with Fishman. I would have never discovered Jamie Masefield and JMP and aubsequebtly Stacy starkweather, ari hoenig, Chris dahlgren, Anton Boller or gabe jarrett if not for fishmans involvement. Iv been amazed and overjoyed by mikes playing with the benevento russo duo, ramble dove, and leo kottke not to mention the fun summer of GRAB and phil and friends in 2006. As well as mike joining the rhythm devils and the Mickey hart band as well as serial pod. The point is these guys are creating excellent music outside of phish that is good enough that now I like to get my phish fill but also have a craving at times for almost all their side projects. Just like I love ratdog, most of P"

"Some people are too analytical of this music. I mean Treys stuff from 6-8 years back is better, however he is still a great musician and for anyone reading this don`t let these peoples negative reviews prevent you from purchasing any shows on this site, because you are the only one who can decide if you`ll like it, obviously by listening to it."
