"The 'Happy Coffee Song' reminds me of some Ween song. Sounds a bit Weenie to me."

"Had to listen to the original Mr Completely and the The Way I Feel. Both songs getting a lot of love on the latest Trey Trio tour."

" I listened to this for the first time tonight, and the only thing I could even remotely compare this to would be Phish's "White Tape" recordings. If you're looking for Phish-like music on this album, beware. Most of the tracks are sound vignettes, ranging from pastoral acoustic guitar to eerie, synthesized soundscapes. "One Man's Trash" is a super-arty excursion from Trey, with a few "songs" thrown in for good measure. "Happy Coffee Song", "Quantegy", "The Way I Feel", and "Rofa Beton" are perhaps the finest moments on the album. Some of the stuff creeps me out! Seriously, "Satan is real on the fainting couch" is such a bizarre lyric (from the song "For Lew (My Bodyguard)"), and "Tree Spine" into "Here's Mud In Your Eye" are short ominous pieces that are just a trip unto themselves. Trey's musical and lyrical humor are in full form. All in all the good outweighs the bad on the disc, and it is an excellent document of Trey's creative mind and artistic ideas during the late Nineties. "

"i first got this album when it was only available on CD through Dry Goods & is Trey's best solo album imo. i wish he'd try and do more stuff like this. the original version of Mr. Completely which first appeared on this album features Trey & Fish performing dual drums & to this day it is the best version that's ever been performed wether it be TAB (studio or live) or Phish. in addition, songs like Quantegy, A Good Stalk, & That Dream Machine are very reminescient of David Byrne's & Brain Eno's 1981 breakthrough album My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts. overall this album has a little bit of everything from the sonic landscapes of Jump Rope (slow version) or the beautiful acoustic guitar on The Real Taste Of Licorice or the odd little pop song Happy Coffee Song or songs like For Lew (My Bodyguard) or At The Barbecue which are down right weird in the most pleasant of terms. judging from the title of the album Trey made these recordings just for fun on his own time and as a result he managed to make something creative and highly entertaining. unfortunately, any Trey solo releases that followed came across too contrived and stale imo, i hate to sound blunt or harsh because i love Trey like a brother from another mother but all his other solo work is horrible, except for Seis De Mayo, that album is great and oddly enough not available for download on LivePhish. also, i haven't heard Time Turns Elastic yet either. so, i'm 100% certain that Trey doesn't read any of this stuff but if he did i would beg him to please please please make One Man's Trash pt. II!!!!! thx."
