Order the DVD+MP3 bundle and save! * On July 22, 1997 Phish performed the second show of their United States summer tour at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, NC. During the show, a thunderstorm of biblical proportion passed directly over the venue letting loose a torrential downpour of rain, thunder and lightning that accentuated the electric nature of the event. The fearsome peaks of the storm synchronized with the peaks of the music, blurring the lines between band and storm. The most sensible course of action was to cancel the gig for safety's sake, but instead the band played through the Appalachian tempest in a thrilling confluence of art and nature. PHISH - WALNUT CREEK documents the collision between a force as imaginative and powerful as Phish in the summer of 1997 and the supreme forces of Creation. This show was hazardous and soaked to the bone but fortunately the tapes - captured from the multi-camera lawn feed and 5.1 audio - remained dry enough to provide the masters for this release, which showcases some of the most potent jamming and scintillating transitions of Phish's career. * to purchase additional merchandise related to this release (t-shirts and ticket magnets) please visit Phish Dry Goods

"bye bye foot alone is enough for me to press play. this show is really good from top to bottom. both sets are full of intresting jams and the vocals are nice. obviously dosent have the fine tuned, turned up version of mikes bass. but this is a fun listen "

"My ticket cost $25 plus fees. This was my second show with Amber. This was the first of two times I was late for a Phish show! We hit crazy traffic and it was pouring. We ran into the show in torrential downpour during the opener of “Runaway Jim” which is permanently imprinted in my memory core! It’s funny the things I remember. Not the first time I saw Phish in the rain but I think it was the first time I saw them in a thunder and lightning storm. You can actually hear the thunder during “Taste.” I was on the lawn exposed to all the elements and getting drenched as I got my first: “Water in The Sky,” “Vultures,” “Bye-Bye Foot,” and “When The Circus Comes To Town.” The “Stash,” “Taste” and DWD > Mike’s > Simple > Hydrogen > Weekapaug are the stuff my dreams are made of, just magnificent! Again, I’m a sucker for “Harry Hood,” Though I think every version is magical. The sets were cut short due to the storm but Phish made up for it with their playing off the storm. Check out my reel on Instagram and Facebook. ????"

‘97 Gorge Release!!!! 8/31/2018 8:19:25 AM

"‘97 is a year of bountiful treasures for aPHISHionados of their music and certain venues have gotten much more hang time on the band’s radar ( Deer Creek, Alpine, MSG, etc.) than The Gorge. Guys PLEASE release a Gorge ‘97 master...I beg of you!!! Oh and maybe Deercreek ‘00 as well?"

"This is my new fav 97’ material. I used to love (still love them)the Hampton/Winston shows, mchnichols and nutter center as well as the best Europe material like the paradiso shows better but I have always liked this show just am for some reason seeing it in a diff light! "

"This show is nuts. And doesn’t even sound like 97’ in a good way. It’s an example of how phish can do anything on any given night. I mean you can hear some 97’ in just saying like it’s so eclectic! Amazing. "
