Show Notes

* Order CD Box Set or Download MP3 and FLAC of all 3 shows here * Brand new 8-CD box set, showcasing three complete shows – fully mastered soundboard recordings, with six sets of music, featuring seventy-eight unique songs with three special guests. Recorded Live February 19th, 20th and 21st, 1993, this run at the intimate Roxy Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia set the stage for many classic tripartite celebrations to follow. With the second show's near-instant legendary status cemented among fans due largely to a non-stop thriller of a second set which included feats of rock and roll greatness, including a sit-in by a spurious Gene Simmons, At The Roxy captures a magical moment for Phish and their audience during a period of peak songwriting and experimentation. Over three nights, the band showcased the full spectrum of their talents from ballads to blues, from master composition to fearless improvisation all simmered and served to a small crew of jubilant participants in a near perfect environment. At the same time, the quartet was experimenting with their acoustic, bluegrass side that peaked over the next several years and provided a perfect baffle to the intense, psychedelic rock of Rift-era Phish. The 8-CD box set is the first complete multiple-show release since Hampton Comes Alive and the 1998 Island Tour. This collection simply must be heard. * 2/21/93 TRACK LIST DISC SEVEN 1. "...here I was in Atl supposedly visiting my college "crowd" from CU....after checking into my hotel and waaay sleep-deprived I wasn't able to find the scheduled "hook-up" location....bummed and desperate for some fun I decided to walk down Peachtree toward the Roxy & I started seeing "Playing tonight...Phish".....I thought...."with a name like Phish this has gotta be my kind of people!....A true Deadhead and free spirit by nature I went inside...was the only person there at 6pm....started drinking....watched the spontaneous sound check & i was hooked.......I was dancing like there was no tomorrow from note #1 with a packed house of hippies like me...& all of a sudden I was raging with my "lost" friends...my new friends & the band..."The Joint was Rockin'!"..... we closed the place down & headed to my friends house for an after-party to beat all others...like a photograph in my mind's eye...I remember Trey sitting on the floor strumming tune after tune oblivious to all the chatter thru-out the house...I was touched by his gift & his kindness as I requested "Dixie Chicken"...he says I'll play it if you'll dance to it...I danced 'til dawn and I've been a Phish fan ever since.....thanks for playing for me Trey...u may not remember me or that party but I will never forget your kindness...& maybe through synchronicity our paths should cross again someday...Traci....free spirit...Aquarius and forever Phish fan! "This is my least favorite of the 3 shows, but it`s still a fine concert. I`m probably spoiled by the 2nd show. I like the bluegrass "GTBT" & the goofy talk during the Fishman segment. "Don`t eat at McDonalds". Good show. Try the 2nd show if you`re only buying one."
