"This is one of the best Foams I’ve ever heard."

"This is, quite simply, one of the greatest phish shows of all time, and my personal favorite show ever. The first set is played flawlessly. The foam is extremely tight and well played, the makisupa has a gorgeous ambient outro that leads into a great melt that quietly MELTS into a silent jam, typical of fall 95. Note perfect versions of tela, frankenstein, and taste while still in its infancy. Onto the second set. This is my favorite set of phish ever. The cohesiveness, the song selection, the jams being absolutely perfect down to the note, the ridiculous flow throughout the set have not only been matched by very few sets in the band's history (Fukuoka, Auburn Hills 97, Dayton 97, and 2/28/03 are among the few). But no set matches the raw power, and sheer intensity this set unleashes from beginning to end. Splendid curtain opener, played perfectly, dives into one of the best Tweezers of 95, which is saying something. This first jam is mostly in the box, but has the cutthroat intensity typical of the era. The jam barrels full steam ahead into Timber, which quickly proceeds into a very tight but mostly type 1 jam. Don't let that fool you, they get so much done in these 5 minutes. Trey and the band build up the tension and pressure until it finally explodes at the end to jump back into tweezer. Phenomenal stuff. The tweezer jam wastes no time getting into some dirty prefunk Page on his synth, but out of nowhere the band turns on the afterburners and blasts off into this crazy, arena rock, pounding jam. Page really shines here; hes just banging away on the Yamaha. Trey is firing off notes like you can't believe, and fish is holding the beat down with insane speed and precision. Mike is a little tough to hear in the mix, but he's just keeping the freight train barreling ahead with fish. The jam slowly winds its way down, and the band slips into Keyboard Army. Beautiful rendition, just them taking a quick breather. Halley's through Slave needs its own paragraph. Halley's (first one that's really jammed out) starts off with a catchy riff from trey. The band latches on, and he alters the theme while sticking to it, At 7:20, Trey fires off a bunch of rapid chords. He keeps doing this with increasing pace, and the band soon catches on. By 7:40, the band is driving this jam into an enormous explosion, with trey blasting off the main theme to connect it all back, and they briefly wind it down. 7:30-8:00 is maybe my favorite 30 seconds of phish. The jam, after that, keeps going for a bit, then simmers down, but only briefly. They soon rebuild this sick on-off theme that almost sounds like the batman theme haha. Finally a beautiful segue into NICU, which also gets its first ever jam. The jam is a reprise of the ending of the Halley's jam, but with a twist on it, and is some more incredible stuff. Then it winds down into a beautiful solo from Page for a few minutes, before perfectly segueing into my favorite set closer, Slave to the Traffic Light. And what a slave it is. Just a beautiful solo from Trey to end the show. And that's how you get the best phish set of all time. Throw in a bold as love encore, and what else could you possibly ask for? I know most fans prefer the late 90s sound, but this is pure 200 proof phish right here. Everyone should know it just because of how amazing executed and brilliant this show is. This show also goes to show this: you can have an amazing set without a 20 minute plus jam in it. Just hammer home some amazing jams, never take your foot off the pedal, and play some great songs to connect the dots. In that regard, I view 12/29/18 very similarly to this show."

"Also to that last post before me in 2018… 12/15/95 was the weakest show of December 95, that’s why it wasn’t released"

"This show…. It’s one of the 3 top shows of the best month of phish history… those 3 shows are 12/1/95, 12/14/95, and 12/31/95….
