"Looks like about a 110 minute First Set! The way it should be. Mikes Cities is always killer. I like Mikes takes on songs that Phish plays way better. Can't wait for the next West Coast tour! San Diego, dude!"

"Just listening back to this night. Highlights were makisupa, sound, andelmans, travelled to far…..the whole show was a bass and drum fest with Mike and Fishman. Such a fun night. People need to listen to this show. Love me a portland show anytime. "

"this is actually the first time I've heard a Mike show. it is absolutely on point. everybody is firing on all cylinders. none of the songs are really any vehicles to set up soloing. just a real tight band, playing with high energy at a level that most musicians wish they could reach one day. I think it's better than Trey shows. my review of the show is..... it's great. no flubs, great percussion, and sick ass bass lines. get it. experience it. you won't regret it."

"I have been trying to catch a Mike solo show for well, ever. Finally the stars were aligned Nov 26 2010 for the show at Port City Music Hall. Normally a 4 hr drive from Canada turned into a 6 hr drive, the first half of it in a major blizzard. One of those white knuckle drives where you take your time, drive real slow, enjoy some conversation and tunes and do whatever you can to keep the tires on the road. Let me tell you, this show was indeed worth every second of that ride and it certainly won't be my last Mike show. This show has everything you want ... wonderful originals, covers, a very special guest, healthy doses of improv, and most importantly, a band kicking ass and taking no prisoners. Too many highlights to name, but the energy in the place when Fish and Todd got rocking together (along with Craig) on Easy to Slip -> Walls of Time was a personal fav (Old and in the Way was the pre-show music). I also loved the opening juxtaposition of I'm Deranged followed by Andelman's Yard. The former Bowie tune (which I didn't know at the time) sounded very reminiscent of something I would have heard out of The New Deal circa 2000, that wonderful frenetic drum+bass sound (sans vocals of course) and the bounciness of the latter. The Moss tunes were flawless, well worked in by the second to last show of the tour. The Void was particularly nice. I really liked Scott's playing on Sugar Shack. Cities was high octave fun. Travelled Too Far included a reprise of Horizon Line and featured some wonderful improv and a drums section that segued into Sound. The Gillian Welch tune Time (the Revelator) was great and segued smoothly into the Gordon/Kottke tune The Grid (which sounds great with a full band, by the way). This also segued into a great Makisupa (complete with the vocal section of the Steve Miller Band's "Swingtown" led by Mike and eventually sung by the crowd. I'm not sure if this is standard, but it sure caught me by surprise and it was awesome! Suskind Hotel -> drums -> 15 Step -> drums -> Suskind Hotel was the final exclamation mark on a great night of double drumming. Tom Clearly on keys was on fire throughout the second set. And what can you say about Mike. Great tone, great effects, he just rules ... clearly enjoying this band of his very much. It was a treat to be a part of this show. I haven't had this much fun at a show in Portland Maine since the original Trey Band tour in 1999. The only other thing I should mention is the top shelf sound quality of this re-mastered sbd. It will sound killer when I get it matrixed with Ted G's sweet audience pull. Do yourself a favour and check out this gem of a show, you won't be disappointed."
