Super UK Phan 8/23/2011 5:08:00 AM

"Flew out from the UK for 3rd year running to catch West Coast Phish (both Tahoes and S.F.). This 2nd serving in Harveys parking lot was very positive and energizing for all involved. Down front for 1st set Stash > set close was really special for me, watching the smiles and into-it-ness of the band. Really like this beautiful venue, except for the painful and somewhat alarming packed-like sardines pedestrian traffic jams getting to/from the massive 'outhouse village' stuck well behind the venue. Super phun 2nd set - when was last time Guyute & YEM played in the same set, let alone 2nd set? Just wunnering. And when will Phish return to UK & Europe? You'll all have a blast - promise!"

"DIRT.......you're a an idiot. Simple. Tahoe raged in front of what, 7,500 people in a parking lot. Talk about intimate. The Gorge is a beautiful place dont get me wrong. Other than the 20min R & R with Page's Theramin solo, the Gorge was standard fare. Not here to bash others but I always say it like I see it and I went to all 4 shows. I will review each of these 4 shows individually next week but just HAD to respond to DIRT's comments today. "

"Great show........Not the best and not the worst, but somehwere in between. I'll actually review the show unlike other posters on this site. EASY entry and exit of this unbelievable venue. Harvey's Casino usually hosts 10-12 shows a year in their parking lot. They set up a stage and get really good bands albeit some country (OUCH!). I've seen about 20 shows INSIDE the venue and another 20 outisde. If you watched the webcast you see how close you could get without actually being inside. Slow start to this show if you ask me.......Saw both Gorge & Tahoe shows and it left me wondering if they were tired and/or distracted. Tahoe is a beautiful place and with the casinos and 24hr nightlife you never know. Dogs, Faulty Plan, Poor Heart, Alaska doesn't do it for me but for the most part well played. Haley's also was a bit truncated. However the rest of the first set was KILLER! It's Ice is my fav Fishman song and I really like Circus as a mellow tune. Yamar and Stash really loosened things up. The jam in both songs were relatively tame. Funky Bitch is, well, Funky Bitch. LOVED Instant Karma by Lennon. I mean Page is 3 time MVP of this band hands down, let's face it. The hair he's lost has been grown musically. A solid Antelope closed a mixed set. The beginning of set II was the exact opposite of set I. Disease>Jim>Ghost>Golden Age>2001>Sally was almost an hour of pure jam songs although none of them soared like the old days. Yeah, I'm one of those guys who look at the times of songs immediatley. But I'll take what I can get. The vibe at Harvey's was hard to describe. INCREDIBLE! The bleachers were sparsley populated with PLENTY of room to dance. Guyute was for the most part error-free. Velvet Sea hmm.......OK. Finished the set with a so-so version of YEM. They've kinda kept this song close to the vest since 3.0. Encored with Show of Life (eh) and GTBT (yeah) with Trey nailing the ending solo. All in all I'd give the show a 8/10. Just IMO. "

"I was just listening to the download - the jam out of "Halleys Comet" just ends cold. I was at the show, and due to my "state of mind" I don't remember >exactly< how "Halleys" ended, but I think there's at least 10 or 20 seconds missing. It might be only 5 seconds, but it's such an abrupt cut, and if you listen to it, it is OBVIOUS that the edit was wrong. Other than that, the show still is excellent. Like I said before, I haven't seen tons of PHiSH shows (this was maybe my 9th or 10th, and my first sine the '90s), but if this show was average, I'd REALLY like to see/hear some "above average" PHiSH shows."
