Show Notes

Trey co-produced the album with Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Jonsi) last fall in Katis' Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, CT. Along with Trey Anastasio Band, Katis invited several artists to work with them, including Mates of State's Kori Gardner, The National's Bryan Devendorf and Matt Berninger, and Icelandic percussionist Samuli Kosminen.

"I need more Architect in my life! Love this album and very appreciative that we have this catalog of goods at our fingertips. Thanks Trey! "

"Have really enjoyed this album. I've heard most of these songs on this album live (TAB at Tab 11/11/11) and was really surprised with how different the studio versions were. It seems that for the album TAB added a lot more complexity to each song, and also emphasized the lyrics more. My only complaint is the way the bass track was recorded on 'Land of Nod'. This is one of my favorite songs of all time and I think that the drums overpower the bass. I'll stick to live version of this song. All in all a great album. Some of it is unusual for Trey, but maybe that's just the 'Genius Theory' coming into play. I really hope Phish starts to adopt some of these new TAB songs in their shows...."

"It took me a few times listening to the album and truly listening to the lyrics to grasp the beauty of the album. And the topper was seeing the Boston show which put all the songs into high gear! I always have to remember that TAB is not Phish yet both are so beautifully amazing in their unique ways! Trey's lyrics these days really hit home with me and they keep getting better with time...with age...with maturity. Now, I can't stop listening to the album....and the show. Bravo TAB!"

"I like a lot of other music besides phish, and I don't compare TAB and Phish, I just don't like most of the songs on this album. Glad Trey is still at it and writing different tunes. The same type of music can get boring, but this album just doesn't do it for me."

"Trey is really beginning to bridge the gap between his band and phish, his sound is becoming so unique in its own. These records really substantiate how serious he takes it, and each one, i feel like, further bridges the gap between trey the jedi and trey the composer. Thx man for your persistance, it really means the world. Se ya at MSG"
