"Many fans called this night a "saturday Night Special," and a through the motions kind of evening, with exception t a few exemplary jams here and there. In my opinion, it's much better than that. Sure, Trey's amp failed a bit the prior night during Farmhouse, setting an obstacle in motion through the end of the tour. Nonetheless, this is a Mike show. If you focus your energies on following Mike Gordon's bass throughout this night, you will find a supreme show, start to fin. It's his night, and I find my level of enjoyment greatly impacted by this approach."

"Oops, meant to say, Possum and First Tube end the first set in a raging fashion."

"First set is a lot of silly fun with Weigh right off the top followed by the medley of Alumni Blues > Letter to Jimmy Page > Alumni Blues, and then Lengthwise. Maze is a solid version, then come a few more short songs played pretty much straight up. JJLC scorches, though I haven't heard a performance to top the one on Slip, Stitch, & Pass. Driver is always fun to hear, and a nice little break. Timber is a personal favorite of mine; this is a relatively short version. Possum ends the set with some blazing play. Overall, it's an oddball first set that could have used another "big" tune or two. The highlight of the show is definitely the Rock and Roll jam. First, the Type I portion is played the s*&% out of. Page then comes in with a nasty, funky clavinet, which leads into the chill part of the jam, which then builds up again and changes key, until finally winding down nicely into Steam. Now that song has become a jam vehicle at times. Here, though there's a nice middle jam, and the end is sounding like it could go places, Trey pulls the ripcord yet again, and for what?? Backwards Down the Number Line yet again sucks the energy out of a great jam. The rest of the set consists of standard readings of good tunes."

"I go to a ton of shows and will probably always do so, I have to say this (saturday show) was the BEST show i've been to. It is not just because i had a head full of acid, 3 hits of x and constant bowls either. everything about the Saturday show was PERFECT...i'm still glowing and dancing, not since 98' at the Shoreline was a so moved... Thanks guys!! see you at Hampton Oct!"
