"Can't really understand why people think 12/30/19 was better than Mexico 2020? I was at one and not the other (the obvious one) but I wish I was in Mexico and would trade the whole MSG run for Mexico, musically and otherwise, in a second! The whole band interplay in Mexico, particularly in the longer jams in this show, was phenomenal, and they explore most of the Phish styles while venturing boldly into new improvisational territory. The Waves the night before brings some Fishman work that is better than anything at MSG 2019 and maybe better than anything in all of 2019! Anyway, people always want to think that what they saw is best, and that is fine. The energy of being there carries the imprint into the future listening sessions and sets the stage for liking something you physically experienced in an intense way better than shows that you did not attend. But, objectively speaking, having been to hundreds of shows, I try for objectivity. And objectively, Mexico 2020 is amazing set list wise and even more so jam creativity wise. Sorry everybody, nothing on the MSG run (which I attended) can touch it with a ten foot pole. Wish I just went on down there my 3 year old - if I knew CoVid was coming, I definitely would have! Oh well - I'll go listen to that forced Tweezer from 12/30/19 again just to be sure that I'm not crazy :-p"

"Good run nice show. Thought last night better but was great. Let’s not get crazy though. So great recent shows Alpine last year and 12/30 all time great shows. This was a great run but nothing really close to those shows. Sorry we love phish but every show just can’t be all time great or we’d have no best shows."

"Everything’s right! This was one of the best two set shows in recent memory. Both sets were pure fire. Trey sure is happy about something. I personally think that when he said “this is the greatest thing ever” he felt he had to make it so. Plus he had to make up for insulting the audience. Whatever it was, this show was just pure energy all the way through. THIS IS WHAT WE CHASE. Too bad I didn’t have 6 grand to be there. It sure looked like fun"
