"Best Black Dog I've ever heard...WOW! Great energy at the show. The most packed I've ever seen the LC hands down!!"

"Trey opened up with Sample in the Jar. It was interesting to hear him sing the chorus with no back up vocals, there was certain vulnerablity to it. Very cool. Ditto for Bug and Cavern- my highlights of the first set. Best crowd moment occured in Limb by Limb. Trey only sang his lines and the crowd sang Page's lines. The effect of the crowd was magnified by the small venue and the acoustic atmosphere, and you could see that Trey appreciated the crowd's involvement. Same with Backwards Down the Number Line. The crowd singing "all my friends" was woven into Trey singing and we all felt that we were part of the performance. This is a feeling you dont necessarily get in the lawn of a 20,000 arena. Trey then brought out the rest of the band for Hey Ya. Although I was curious when I saw them debut this in Portland, it didnt resonate in the balcony. Not terribly impressed. At this moment, I was kicked out of the "reserved" section of the balcony. Although I think the acoustics at the LC is unmatched, the setup in the balcony was not great. If you are not in the reserved section of th4 first row behind, you can't see anything. For whatever reasons, other venues have better balcony views, such as the HOB in Boston. The full band came out and played a few songs (I was outside on the patio for most of it). Ocelot was very up tempo and the horns added a lot. For the second set, I moved up to the 3rd row on the floor. Totally different vibe being up close and the sound was very loud and crisp. Gotta Jibbo was a great opener and the harmonies between the girls and Trey were right on for Drifting. Three fantastic covers: Clint Eastwood, It Makes No Difference (Trey hitting the high notes here was the most poignant anything) and Black Dog. My highlight was Push on til the day. Trey was totally locked in. There was one moment when he was staring off to the back of the house and paced back and forth. The jam was multi layered and everyone was dancing their asses off. A great encore with Sand and Tuesday/ Trey is a truly special entertainer. With one jam he can capture the imagination of a whole crowd. This was a great opportunity to see an intimate side and the extended jams are getting better and better with TAB. Finally, the female vocals were truly fantastic. All in all a great night! "
