A stacked Set I kicked off the festivities, featuring standout performances of Runaway Jim, Reba, Fee, Split Open And Melt, Esther, and It’s Ice > Harry Hood. Set II continued the onslaught with a blistering 2001 > David Bowie, the second such combination ever played.  Other set II highlights included Jesus Just Left Chicago and a Fishman-Baby Gramps duet (on vacuum and guitar respectively) on Gramps’ Nothin’ But A Nothin’.  Chalk Dust Torture and 1993’s last Free Bird encore sealed the deal. 8/26/93 Portland was recorded by Paul Languedoc to DAT and mastered by Fred Kevorkian. PRODUCTION CREDITS: - Recorded by Paul Languedoc - Post-Production by Kevin Shapiro - Mastered by Fred Kevorkian at Kevorkian Mastering - Nothin’ But A Nothin’ with Baby Gramps on guitar/vocals - HD files are 24bit/44.1kHz

"It’s Ice…. “D’oh”. Phish required the audience to listen to every note. The language was a test. "

"First comment. 93 was a breakout year for Reba imo..the phasing from quiet back into range and tone..check out UNH 5/5/93 Second comment..is Mike maybe the best rock bass player in the land (with Les but different). Listen to the SOAMs from 93-94. Absolute monster Mike. Also read that they never really felt locked into SOAM until 93. Debuted in 89"

"This show is one of my faves and holds personal memories for me. I discovered Phish after moving to Oregon in 1992. My first show was Eugene at the Hilton on Earth Day. I fell in love with the band and for the almost 2 years I lived out there, I saw the band something like 6 times. Sadly, it was time to leave and head back to my hometown. I was flying back home on Sept. 1, but low and behold, I had one last chance to see the band before leaving. I saddled up with a friend and we drove up to Portland from Eugene to catch this show. First of all, the theatre was absolutely gorgeous so a feast for the eyes came before the band treated a packed house to some amazing music. The highlights, that I still remember, were a smoking Jim and Lizards and of course, an acapella Freebird."

"The entire August 93' tour should be released! How about a boxset?"
